Hoyle Tanner has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer in our Northeast Municipal Engineering Services Group (NEME). This position can be based out of any of our offices in NH or VT. Be part of a team of civil engineering design professionals who are committed to building strong and lasting relationships with our clients by delivering creative, cost-effective, quality solutions while enhancing the communities in which we work and live. As a Project Engineer in our NEME Group, you will be a strong contributor on a team tasked with delivering infrastructure and civil engineering projects which includes site design, grading, stormwater management and treatment design, and sanitary sewer system design. You will be responsible for the preparation of calculations, layouts, modeling, estimates, drawings, and specifications under the direction of senior engineers and project managers. Additionally, you will lead and guide junior engineers and CADD teammates, working as part of an integrated, multi-discipline team to solve technical challenges. Your role will also involve using software and other tools to develop designs and organize work, gathering, researching, and maintaining engineering data records including tests, drawings, and field data. You may attend site visits and meetings with clients and contractors, and may be responsible for construction observation and limited administration. Reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications will be essential, as well as demonstrating strong writing and communication skills. Continuous learning is encouraged, including the pursuit of an advanced engineering degree. The successful candidate will have experience with plan production, specification writing, engineering analysis, and task management in a project engineer role, and possess strong oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, HydroCAD, and other related civil design software is desired. This position is based out of our New Hampshire and Vermont offices (Portsmouth, NH, Manchester, NH, Burlington, VT) and is a hybrid remote position opportunity.
