About the position

The Project Engineer at McMillen is responsible for delivering civil engineering design and project management services, particularly in water resources. The role requires a strong technical background, with a focus on civil work structures, and involves collaboration with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering design with a focus on civil work structures
• Perform site investigations and/or inspections and provide detailed assessment reports of conditions
• Develop project plans, specifications, and construction documents
• Perform and/or supervise cost estimating on schematic, preliminary, and final design phases
• Coordinate upland and bathymetric surveying and geotechnical investigations
• Support and provide guidance to CAD technicians as part of design drawing development
• Develop design calculations, technical reports, design drawings, and technical specifications
• Project coordination with clients, subconsultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
• Provide construction engineering support and management
• Interpret field survey data

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a civil engineering field (Master's preferred)
• 4-8 years of relevant experience in civil engineering
• Knowledge of codes and standards related to civil design
• Strong communication, technical and analytical skills
• Experience with hydraulic calculations and/or modeling
• Experience with the development of project plans, specifications, and construction documents
• Proficiency in BlueBeam or other pdf editor
• Professional Engineering License, NCEES registration preferred
• Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with fellow employees, clients, and business associates
