About the position

Skyline Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team, focusing on commercial interior construction. This role offers hands-on experience in project management, allowing individuals to learn from industry leaders while participating in various fast-paced projects. Project Engineers will be integral to driving complex construction projects to completion, collaborating with a diverse range of professionals, and managing low-risk projects as they gain expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and attend job walks.
  • Prepare and qualify bids.
  • Coordinate building access.
  • Prepare meeting minutes and weekly status reports.
  • Track and review RFI's, submittals, shop drawings, samples, and procurement.
  • Complete project start-up and close-out documents.
  • Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with daily management of various construction projects.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with major coursework in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of construction experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction principles, techniques and procedures.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, project scheduling, BlueBeam, Procore, PlanGrid and CAD preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information in oral, written and graphic form.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to read architectural / engineering plans and specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of project estimating & scheduling.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to adapt behavior to meet the needs of the project to ensure project success.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft platforms.
  • Familiarity with project estimating and scheduling.
