About the position

The Project Engineer Controls is responsible for overseeing the design and execution of controls projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and scope. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including designers, engineers, and customers, to ensure project success and compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Designers, Technical Leaders, and Engineers involved in the project to ensure homogeneous solutions among all commodities.
  • Liaise with the customer, internal functions, and subcontractors to ensure the smooth running of the project.
  • Evaluate and review customer requirements and specifications.
  • Review original baseline planning and the engineering make/buy strategy.
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress.
  • Manage the project within the budget and identify/document any changes in scope.
  • Act as the customer technical interface and review/update the project open issues list, risks, and opportunities.
  • Monitor project cost to complete (CTC) and attend project reviews.
  • React promptly and effectively to customer needs and review engineering changes for timing evaluation.
  • Monitor and update the status of engineering change activities in each phase.

Requirements

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in automation or engineering is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge in Automation Systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and a practical, hands-on problem-solving approach.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Project), and AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and their relationship to controls design.
  • Knowledge of controls systems and their components.
