About the position

Harris is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Program & Construction Management team in San Diego, CA. This role involves assisting in the management of K-12 projects, including programming, planning, design, procurement, construction, and asset management. The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring client satisfaction and project profitability while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the full range or portions of the program management cycle with multiple task teams.
• Interact and communicate with the Client.
• Oversee client relationships and serve as a management resource to clients.
• Review, estimate, negotiate, and process construction change orders and construction field orders.
• Review and enforce construction and professional services contracts.
• Provide strategic technical direction.
• Ensure quality standards are met on all project components.
• Ensure all project components are managed to client satisfaction.
• Ensure all projects under direction meet profitability targets.
• Support Division utilization targets and achievement of other financial metrics.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent professional experience in a similar or equivalent position involved in project or construction.
• BS/BA Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related degree.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to take initiative and make sound decisions.
• Able to discern and clearly communicate the client's goals and key priorities.
• Able to represent the client in presenting the program to the community.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
