About the position

The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing various aspects of project engineering, including daily reports, quantity tracking, project scheduling, budget updates, and maintaining correspondence logs. This role requires coordination with project managers and site supervision to resolve issues related to design interpretation and ensure accurate project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project engineering tasks including daily reports and quantity tracking.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager and Site Supervision to resolve drawing interpretation issues.
  • Administer FTP site for the transfer and maintenance of project drawings.
  • Prepare and disseminate documentation records such as status reports and punch lists.
  • Lead project meetings in the absence of the Project Manager.
  • Schedule equipment and materials for projects.
  • Create T&M Timesheets and obtain client approval.
  • Work with Project Manager on job setup forms and budget cost transfers.
  • Assist in developing budgets for new projects and preparing draft estimates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum one-year experience in a Project Engineering role with a construction-based organization preferred.
  • Experience with job costing, scheduling, and estimating contract changes preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent modeling software preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with construction estimating and scheduling software preferred.
  • Co-op program in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management may satisfy experience requirements.
