About the position

As a Project Engineer specializing in Design Build projects, you will play a critical role in ensuring our clients' needs are met and our projects are completed on time and within budget. This position is ideal for an entry-level construction professional who is eager to learn and grow within a reputable general contracting firm. You will be working closely with our project management team, assisting in various stages of construction projects from planning to completion. Your responsibilities will include coordinating RFIs, managing submittals, and fostering strong relationships with subcontractors. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes and the ability to think critically and solve problems effectively. You will also be involved in project meetings, providing updates on project status, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and management of construction projects.
  • Support Project Managers in the execution of projects, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate and process RFIs, submittals, and close outs.
  • Foster strong relationships with subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
  • Monitor project progress, addressing any issues that arise and ensuring the project stays on schedule.
  • Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on project status.
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 0 years' experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience with RFI coordination, submittals, subcontractor relationships, and close outs.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
