Lunda Construction Company, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an Entry Level Project Engineer for our office in Black River Falls, WI. We are looking for motivated Project Engineers to join our team, with potential project assignments that may include rail transit, bridge, railroad, and industrial project sites across the Midwest. As a Project Engineer, you will support a field team consisting of Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, and others. You will build relationships and communicate effectively with field teams, including design partners, subcontractors, and project leads. Your role will involve understanding and assisting with project layout, identifying critical work items, procuring long-lead items, and assisting with monthly billings, cash flow projections, and processing change orders. You will also be responsible for interpreting designs and drawings, reviewing mock-ups and shop drawings, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and specifications. Additionally, you will participate in safety inspections and ensure adherence to OSHA regulations, contributing to a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support a field team consisting of Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, etc.
  • Build relationships and communicate with field teams including design partners, subcontractors, and project leads.
  • Understand and assist with project layout.
  • Identify critical work items and procure long-lead items.
  • Assist with monthly billings, cash flow projections, and process change orders.
  • Demonstrate understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction field.
  • Interpret designs and drawings for crafts installing.
  • Review mock-up and/or shop drawings and specifications.
  • Understand subcontractor job specifications and scope of work.
  • Responsible for the review and maintenance of subcontractor non-compliance and coordinate with QA/QC.
  • Verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
  • Create and process RFI's.
  • Understand the schedule in coordination with field crews to execute the work.
  • Help develop or review design and work plans as required.
  • Understand company safety program and participate in safety inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related engineering field.
  • Experience in the Construction Industry, especially in Heavy Civil is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate consistent ability to be dependable, consistent, diligent, and thorough.
  • Proactive communication & collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Solution-oriented problem solver.
