About the position

In this role, you'll collaborate directly with clients to evaluate fire detection and alarm devices and ensure safety standards are met. You'll take ownership of projects-defining scope, planning investigations, and overseeing testing, both in the lab and on-site. If you thrive on communication, problem-solving, and seeing projects through from start to finish, we'd love to have you join our team! This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week at our customer site (Tampa, Florida).

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate fire detection and alarm devices and communicate project status, issues, and results.
  • Address and resolve client concerns, promoting UL services.
  • Define project scope, specifications, and timelines.
  • Conduct and witness tests, coordinate administrative tasks, and prepare reports.
  • Serve as Project Handler or Reviewer when assigned.
  • Provide technical assistance on inspections and follow-up services.
  • Establish test programs, resolve engineering issues, and notify clients of compliance concerns.
  • Develop special test methods and propose new/revised UL requirements.
  • Integrate improvement practices and support lab and field staff.
  • Represent UL at industry events and maintain UL Code of Conduct standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years working with commercial or residential fire detection devices or alarm systems.
  • Product certification experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
