About the position

We are currently seeking long-term Construction Project Engineers for projects in the Southwest and Pacific Northwest regions. Our Construction Engineers provide project planning, scheduling, procurement, and related technical and administrative support to lead individuals on the project. This position works closely with the project manager, superintendent, foremen, and crews to support the overall needs of the project. The role involves performing scheduling of the project, managing revenue, cost, and cash flow, and coordinating with subcontractors and product vendors. Additionally, the Project Engineer participates in the preparation and implementation of permanent design management and quality control, oversees project closeout, and maintains close contact and good working relationships with client representatives. The position also includes assisting in operations planning, administering contracts and subcontracts, training and directing Field Engineers, and developing and maintaining owner relations.

Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduling of the project.
  • Manages revenue, cost, and cash flow.
  • Contracts, manages and coordinates sub-contractors and product vendors.
  • Participates in the preparation and implementation of permanent design management and quality control.
  • Oversees project closeout.
  • Maintains close contact and good working relationships with client representatives.
  • Assists in Operations planning.
  • Administers contracts and subcontracts.
  • Trains and directs Field Engineers.
  • Develops and maintains owner relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering is highly desired.
  • 4-6 years' working experience in construction or engineering as a Project Engineer.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Excellent understanding of pre-construction and construction processes.
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office; knowledge of Primavera, Heavy Job/Heavy Bid is a plus.
  • Working experience managing engineers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Ability to respectfully take direction and adhere to feedback from site superintendent and project managers.
  • Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance in accordance with project and company work hours.
  • Must be able to travel and relocate to projects in the Pacific Northwest and Southwest region.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management software such as Primavera, Heavy Job/Heavy Bid.
