As a Project Engineer for Kiewit, you will be integral to the success of our projects, focusing on contract administration, project planning, scheduling, quantity management, cost controls, and project reporting. You will lead a team of field engineers and serve as an advisor to Project Management on contractual, legal, and other project-related issues. Your role will require you to interpret drawings and specifications for field crews, assist in the preparation of work plans and packages, and supervise field surveying and work layout support. You will also be responsible for compiling and processing daily labor timesheets, preparing Job Hazard Analyses (JHA's), and participating in jobsite safety reviews and training sessions. In addition to these responsibilities, you will plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite, perform material takeoffs from various documents, and supervise engineers in gathering and preparing data for submittals to customers, vendors, and subcontractors. You will maintain project recordkeeping, including daily reports and requests for information (RFIs), and report data into the job cost system while reviewing cost reports with jobsite management. Generating change orders and as-built data for review by the Project Manager will also be part of your duties, along with providing field support and supervising subcontractor operations. Kiewit's South-Central District specializes in heavy civil and transportation markets, and you will have the opportunity to work on projects such as mass grading, drainage, paving, and underground utilities. The role may require relocation based on project availability, providing a unique opportunity for career growth and exposure to various locations across the United States.
