About the position
The Project Engineer I (Bridge) position at Pennoni involves leading project teams in structural evaluations and managing various bridge-related projects. The role focuses on developing client relationships, preparing proposals, and ensuring quality control in engineering practices. The engineer will work on diverse transportation structures and utilize advanced modeling software for analysis and design.
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams in structural condition evaluation and load capacity rating.
- Manage projects according to defined scope, schedule, and fee.
- Develop and maintain client relationships.
- Independently prepare proposals, schedules, and estimate budgets.
- Prepare reports with actionable conclusions and recommendations for infrastructure owners.
- Coordinate with the Bridge Design Group for operations, preservation, and retrofit designs of transportation structures.
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control protocols.
- Lead development of structural monitoring projects including bridge and building monitoring.
- Conduct finite element analysis of complex bridges using CSI Bridge and other modeling software.
- Assist with bridge design, inspection, and load rating tasks for various transportation projects.
Requirements
- 8 - 12 years of experience in structural engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer License required.
- Experience with plan production and assembly.
- Demonstrated experience in finite element analysis using software such as CSI Bridge, LUSAS, STAAD, SAP2000, and others.
- Experience with BrIM platforms like OpenBridge, MatLab, Python, MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD.
Nice-to-haves
- Management experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
