About the position

The position involves assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent in the organization, control, monitoring, and recording of activities related to the construction management of an industrial project. The role requires performing engineering tasks, maintaining records, and facilitating material delivery while ensuring compliance with safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in organizing and controlling construction activities.
• Perform engineering tasks requiring standard techniques and handle minor technical problems during construction.
• Maintain records regarding job progress, costs, and material usage.
• Assist in planning and scheduling of the job as needed.
• Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements and pricing.
• Work with suppliers to facilitate the handling and expediting of material deliveries.
• Assist with estimating, including quantity takeoffs and site visits.
• Manage submittals, change orders, and RFIs.
• Submit permit applications and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent experience in construction, design, and finance.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong work ethic to ensure efficient and high-quality job completion.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to access all points of construction sites in various climates and environments.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, P6 Scheduling, Power Point, Procore, and Bluebeam.
• Skills in contract negotiation, letter writing, and telephone communication.
• Knowledge of budgeting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of safety, environmental, and EEO requirements.
• Time management and file management skills.
• Public speaking and attention to detail.
