About the position

The Project Engineer - Industrial - Water/Wastewater role at Parsons involves managing complex industrial projects, particularly in the water and wastewater sector. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills, focusing on delivering innovative solutions that enhance community infrastructure. The selected candidate will oversee project life cycles from concept through to commissioning, ensuring adherence to industry standards and effective communication with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project management responsibilities on industrial EPCm Capital Projects ranging from $1M to $400M.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams and clients, preparing correspondence, reports, presentations, and proposals.
  • Identify gaps in engineering deliverables and work with customers and internal teams to resolve them.
  • Integrate competing elements into planning and execution processes for smooth project flow.
  • Oversee project controls and other project service functions on mid to large TIC projects.
  • Develop a complete understanding of contracts and provide support to the project management team.
  • Act as the company representative with clients and subcontractors during program execution.
  • Negotiate changes to the scope of work with clients and subcontractors.
  • Market and secure additional work with clients.
  • Verify project requirements for safety, quality, cost, and productivity are met with the Project Director.
  • Draft project baseline for approval and ensure it is documented and communicated to the project team.
  • Support the Project Director in delivering the project according to execution and commercial baselines.
  • Participate in sales and marketing efforts as requested.
  • Establish program requirements and monitor deliverables for adherence to criteria.
  • Develop and distribute project descriptions to all team members for reference.
  • Work with managers and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for project elements.
  • Ensure project goals are met or exceeded according to established plans.
  • Devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, advising clients and management of changes.
  • Promote technical and commercial excellence through Quality Assurance processes.
  • Monitor and report on project activity progress, including significant milestones and conditions affecting cost or schedule.
  • Establish weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical/business field.
  • 5-8+ years of relevant work experience, particularly with Water/Wastewater Treatment Projects, Design, and/or Construction.
  • Experience in various manufacturing capital projects.
  • Broad general technical and business background.
  • Ability to manage projects and interface with clients while being hands-on technically.

Nice-to-haves
