About the position

The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer / SCADA Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing control systems for industrial, rail, and water/wastewater facilities. This role involves preparing various technical documents, assisting in the development of operator interfaces, and conducting system start-up and commissioning services. The position offers a flexible work arrangement with a mix of in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instrumentation and control system plans, conduit/cable schedules, and instrumentation schedules.
• Develop operator interfaces and platform logic.
• Prepare construction estimates and conduct construction administration tasks.
• Perform system start-up and commissioning services.
• Create P&IDs, loop sheets, elementary drawings, and I/O schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Five or more years of experience in control system design.
• Knowledge of PLC controls and SCADA, DCS configuration.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to lead team members in design.
• Advanced knowledge of PLC controls and SCADA.
• Professional PE registration in Minnesota or ability to obtain it.
• Experience with process automation systems.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
