About the position

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Project Engineer for our Large Projects Group in Dallas, TX. This individual will work on high-profile, landmark projects in the DFW market. The Project Engineer is an entry-level position that assists the Project Manager and Sr. Project Engineer with the planning and daily execution of construction projects. Responsible for maintaining certain aspects of the project schedule, as assigned by the Project Manager, by managing the process of submittal approvals, coordinating the timely delivery of materials, and maintaining schedules and budgets to ensure projects are completed with quality, profitability, and while complying with our Safety/Zero Harm culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager and Sr. Project Engineer with planning and execution of construction projects
• Maintain project schedule aspects as assigned by the Project Manager
• Manage the process of submittal approvals
• Coordinate timely delivery of materials
• Maintain schedules and budgets
• Ensure projects are completed with quality and profitability
• Promote customer relations
• Promote culture, leadership, and employee development

Requirements

• B.S. (Construction Management degrees preferred)
• One six-month intern co-op with a construction company
• Proficiency in using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, the internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook)

Nice-to-haves

• One to three years of previous working experience
• Experience with RFI
• Experience with change orders
• Experience with submittals
• Experience with punch-list
• Assisting with sub-contractor meeting minutes
