About the position

The Project Engineer / Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations and projects in the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach. This role involves managing the maintenance, repair, modification, and retrofit of large Ship to Shore Gantry Container Handling Cranes and Power Equipment, ensuring efficient operations and maximizing equipment uptime.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, modification, and retrofit of large Ship to Shore Gantry Container Handling Cranes and Power Equipment.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance operations and projects.
• Provide technical support and suggest engineering changes.
• Act as a customer liaison and review equipment specifications and maintenance programs.
• Direct and lead foreman, mechanics, and electricians.
• Resolve issues between different shifts to maximize equipment uptime.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Project Management.
• Minimum of 5 years total experience, including 3 years in Engineering, Maintenance, or Project Management.
• At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings.
