About the position

The Project Engineer, Commissioning at JLL plays a crucial role in supporting the Commissioning & Building Analytics (CBA) team by ensuring reliable and efficient project execution. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders and requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills. The role encompasses overseeing commissioning processes, conducting inspections, and managing project documentation throughout all phases of construction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide reliable support to the Commissioning & Building Analytics team.
  • Monitor, review, and execute all facets of commissioning-related projects.
  • Conduct comprehensive field-based commissioning activities, including site visits and managing Functional Test scripts.
  • Develop and track commissioning activity schedules and sequence-of-work.
  • Chair commissioning meetings and liaise with team members, consultants, and contractors.
  • Perform Commissioning Design Drawing & Specification Reviews, as well as Submittal reviews.
  • Develop strong Commissioning Plans and Specifications.
  • Utilize calibrated testing equipment for commissioning processes.
  • Compile project documentation into site/project specific Systems Manuals.

Requirements

  • A recognized university technical degree or equivalent; Engineering Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant mechanical engineering and/or field-testing experience.
  • Experience with mechanical testing meters and equipment.
  • Strong data management skills and proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize multiple project schedules.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineer/PE or PMP designation is considered an asset.
  • LEED AP certification is preferred.
  • Any combination of Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), Certified Power Quality Professional (CPMP), Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP), or Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) designations is considered an asset.
  • Ability to use electrical testing meters and equipment is an asset.
