A successful project engineer will demonstrate the ability to handle multiple discipline projects while showcasing excellent project management, task management, and design supervision skills. Key responsibilities include preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned engineering projects. The engineer will analyze and interpret customer-supplied information to design new equipment or modify existing systems to meet specific requirements. It is crucial to ensure that project specifications align with quotes provided. Once projects are initiated, the Project Engineer will oversee the creation of drawings, bills of material, submittal packages, and installation/operation manuals to support design and fabrication, facilitate installation, and achieve customer approval. As projects progress to the installation phase, the engineer will address any questions from engineers or contractors to ensure successful project completion. The role also involves developing specifications for necessary project equipment, preparing or leading the development of drawings and models based on sketches using standard techniques and computer-assisted design/drafting equipment. The Project Engineer will support the realization of designs through supply chain, production, and field installation and testing, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications. Regular meetings with client representatives will be held to establish requirements for new or existing equipment or systems. The position may require travel to suppliers, fabricators, or other locations for process inspections, factory testing, or to review fabrication issues and improvement opportunities. Additionally, the engineer will prepare and review calculations in support of structural, mechanical, and process designs, work on CAD and other engineering software to create drawings, calculations, and specifications, and assist with manufacturing issue resolution while collaborating with shop personnel on continuous improvement initiatives.
