About the position

The Project Engineer Professional Associate at Jacobs is responsible for supporting project teams in managing field construction activities. This role involves overseeing various project documentation, coordinating with clients and contractors, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. The position requires a strong understanding of project management principles and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities that include tracking submittals, managing change orders, and conducting field inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and track submittals, field documentation, RFIs, proposals, contracts, invoices, and change orders.
  • Coordinate with building and client on active projects.
  • Keep track of agendas, meeting minutes, and action items from meetings.
  • Develop and maintain project cost/change controls, project budget, and change order estimates/negotiations.
  • Control drawing documents, track as-built drawings, and manage the RFI and submittal process.
  • Review contractor payment requisitions and conduct inspections in the field of contractor work.
  • Write daily reports and coordinate with the design team in submittal review and tracking.
  • Analyze project schedules using Gantt charts and Work Breakdown Structures.
  • Create and track RFIs and review construction drawings.
  • Attend client and field meetings, coordinating with field inspectors and foremen.
  • Coordinate with pre-construction and estimating teams, and perform takeoffs and bid reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • 4 years of work experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Expertise in Change Order Evaluations and Cost Estimating.
  • Knowledge of risk analysis and mitigation in construction management.
  • Experience with CPM Scheduling, WBS, and Gantt Chart analysis.
  • Ability to read engineering documents and drawings.
  • Strong technical writing and contract language skills.
  • Experience in claims review and analysis.
