About the position

The Project Engineer at The Middlesex Corporation is responsible for preparing and maintaining project documents and logs, participating in the work planning process, and providing technical support to the Superintendent and Project Manager. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and effective communication within the civil construction field, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with and actively promote all Safety policies and procedures, including reporting all accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Direct oversight of assigned field engineers.
  • Provide technical support for the Field Superintendent.
  • Receive, review, and submit shop drawings.
  • Address correspondence and review with the Project Manager.
  • Provide delivery support for the Field Superintendents.
  • Conduct technical reviews of work in the field to ensure compliance with specification requirements.
  • Advise the Project Manager of any potential change orders or claims.
  • Coordinate and monitor long lead items that are schedule significant.
  • Provide continued reevaluation of means and methods as necessary.
  • Direct oversight of technical drawings for structural steel, concrete work, and rebar.
  • Conduct field visits with QA/QC to manufacturers of long lead items as determined by schedule requirements.
  • Coordinate and take lead responsibility during the submittal process.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or a construction-related field.
  • 5 years of experience in the civil construction field.
  • OSHA 10 Certified.
