About the position

The Project Engineer - Structural position at American Structurepoint involves working within a team-oriented environment to design and analyze building structures. The role requires a structural engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in building design, focusing on producing diverse projects while adhering to the International Building Code. The successful candidate will collaborate with Project Managers and other engineers to create detailed drawings and specifications, ensuring effective communication with clients and team members throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis for various structural systems and elements.
  • Design gravity and lateral load resisting systems for buildings using various building codes.
  • Advance the structural engineering design, coordination, detailing, and drawing production of assigned projects.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and supervision to project staff as appropriate.
  • Communicate with clients and design team members to achieve project goals.
  • Prepare technical reports related to structural design.
  • Monitor contractor's conformance with structural design intent by reviewing shop drawings and performing field observation site visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred).
  • Passed either the NCEES Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam or the NCEES Structural Engineering (SE) exam (SE preferred).
  • Possess engineering licensure in at least one state.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience (Advanced degree can be considered as relevant experience).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using RAM Structural System, RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, and Revit Structure.
  • Design experience with post-tensioned concrete structures.
