About the position

The Project Engineer Supervisor for MQ9A Export Programs at General Atomics is responsible for leading engineering solutions for the Netherlands MQ-9A FMS Program. This role involves close collaboration with program management, supporting customer pursuits, developing program plans, and facilitating technical program execution. The position requires interfacing with international customers, vendors, and program stakeholders, ensuring compliance with safety standards and technical objectives from inception to delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Formulates plans and guides the development and implementation of engineering solutions including deployment, resource requirements, testing, documentation, integration, and compliance and safety.
  • Advises or directs the activities of assigned projects/programs to achieve technical objectives.
  • Directs and allocates technical resources and professional staff to achieve program objectives.
  • Serves as a key team member in proposal development and program standup.
  • Liaises with functional groups to meet program objectives while monitoring budget and schedule constraints.
  • Represents the organization and program as an engineering technical contact.
  • Provides leadership for a project/program and direction to less experienced professional staff.
  • Coordinates troubleshooting, analysis, and repair guidance for fielded customer equipment.
  • Determines annual and multi-year technical objectives for designated engineering systems or projects/programs.
  • Publishes and presents technical papers and participates in internal and external technical program reviews.
  • Plans for future applications of solutions based on IRAD activity and new developments in engineering technology.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Nine or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, seven or more years with a master's degree, or four or more years with a PhD.
  • Demonstrates extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience leading development and integration and test of new technologies.
  • Experience with production oversight, payload integration, and fielding experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of DoD requirements generation and military system acquisition processes.
  • Background or previous experience in general aviation, aviation regulations, air traffic management, or pilot experience.
  • Experience with international programs and/or USAF FMS programs.
