About the position

The Project Engineer - Sustaining Product Development (SPD) role at Rehlko involves technical problem-solving and design activities for industrial generators. This hybrid position requires over 50% on-site work while allowing for remote focus time. The engineer will work in cross-functional teams to design and validate parts and systems, ensuring they meet business goals, cost targets, and customer needs. The role emphasizes flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a significant impact on product development and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Handle responsibilities and perform projects and tasks for technical assignments of moderate scope and complexity under general direction of the SPD Manager and Platform Leader.
• Assure functional acceptability through application of engineering tools, analysis, and testing.
• Document specifications and achieve product technical, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Execute design projects to support cost reduction targets through VAVE and sourcing strategy implementation.
• Execute design projects to support manufacturing strategy, including reducing downtime and improving assembly throughput.
• Provide ongoing design support of existing products by resolving design issues for customers and manufacturing, supporting supply chain issues, and ensuring compliance with product/component codes & standards.
• Provide technical guidance and design direction to CAD Analysts and other less experienced Engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• 2 to 4 years of experience working as an engineer.
• Background in product development, quality engineering, or manufacturing engineering is preferred.
• Ability to solve a wide variety of problems and desire a mix between conceptual design and hands-on activities.
• Passion for execution and reliability as a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
