About the position

The Sustaining Product Development (SPD) Project Engineer is a technical problem solver responsible for executing design activities for Rehlko industrial generators. This hybrid role involves working in cross-functional teams to design and validate parts, assemblies, and systems that align with business goals, cost targets, and customer needs. The position offers flexibility and autonomy, allowing engineers to manage multiple projects while contributing to critical functions that support health and safety globally.

Responsibilities

• Handle responsibilities and perform projects and tasks for technical assignments of moderate scope and complexity under general direction of the SPD Manager and Platform Leader.
• Assure functional acceptability through application of engineering tools, analysis, and testing.
• Document specifications and achieve product technical, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Execute design projects to support cost reduction targets through VAVE and sourcing strategy implementation.
• Execute design projects to support manufacturing strategy, including reducing downtime and improving assembly throughput.
• Provide ongoing design support of existing products by resolving design issues for customers and manufacturing, supporting supply chain issues, and ensuring compliance with product/component codes & standards.
• Provide technical guidance and design direction to CAD Analysts and other less experienced Engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• 2 to 4 years of experience working as an engineer.
• Background in product development, quality engineering, or manufacturing engineering is preferred.
• Ability to solve a wide variety of problems and desire a mix between conceptual design and hands-on activities.
• Passion for execution and reliability as a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
