About the position

The Sustaining Product Development (SPD) Project Engineer is a technical problem solver responsible for executing design activities for Rehlko's industrial generators. This hybrid role involves working in cross-functional teams to design and validate parts, assemblies, and systems that align with business goals, cost targets, and customer needs. The position offers flexibility and autonomy, allowing engineers to manage multiple projects while contributing to critical functions that enhance safety and communication globally.

Responsibilities

  • Handle responsibilities and perform projects and tasks for technical assignments of moderate scope and complexity under general direction of the SPD Manager and Platform Leader.
  • Assure functional acceptability through application of engineering tools, analysis, and testing.
  • Document specifications and achieve product technical, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Execute design projects to support cost reduction targets through VAVE and sourcing strategy implementation.
  • Support manufacturing strategy by reducing downtime and improving assembly throughput.
  • Provide ongoing design support of existing products by resolving design issues for customers and manufacturing, supporting supply chain issues, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and design direction to CAD Analysts and less experienced Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience working as an engineer, preferably in product development, quality engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Ability to solve a wide variety of problems and desire a mix between conceptual design and hands-on activities.
  • Reliable self-starter with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in energy resilience or related fields.
  • Familiarity with VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) processes.
  • Knowledge of CAD software and design tools.
