About the position

The Project Engineer position at Parsons involves a variety of engineering tasks focused on road and highway projects, including feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, final design, and report writing. This role supports projects primarily in Southern California and offers a hybrid remote working option, allowing employees to work from home 2-3 days per week. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and external clients, and may involve supervising lower-level engineers.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of roadway engineering tasks such as geometric design, engineering analyses, and project plan development.
• Prepare engineering design plans, engineering computations, technical reports, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Assist the project manager in executing and delivering project assignments.
• Coordinate and communicate with internal team and external clients/agencies.
• Plan, lead, and supervise lower level engineers on the same assignments.
• Participate in project meetings and site visits as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in roadway related fields.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
• Caltrans projects experience and knowledge of Caltrans standards, policies, and manuals is essential or highly preferred.
• Proficient in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to apply advanced engineering techniques and practices and solve complex engineering problems.
