About the position

As a Project Engineer in the Transportation division, you will be a key member of the team responsible for designing and overseeing roadway projects for various municipalities and state departments. This role involves leveraging engineering expertise to ensure that infrastructure projects meet safety, efficiency, and environmental standards while enhancing community mobility and connectivity. You will work in a hybrid environment with flexible summer Fridays, contributing to a range of transportation-related infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed engineering calculations for transportation infrastructure design.
  • Develop comprehensive project deliverables including plans, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the design of highways, interchanges, roadways, streets, intersections, and roundabouts.
  • Assist in the development of construction bid documents for transportation projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the design of roadway, bridge, and multimodal transportation improvement projects.
  • Experience developing construction bid documents for ConnDOT and municipalities in Connecticut.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Connecticut or ability to obtain licensure within one year.
  • Licensure in other New England states is a valuable differentiator.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with environmental standards in transportation projects.
  • Familiarity with project management software.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
