About the position

Ardurra is seeking a Project Engineer (Transportation) to join their team in Las Vegas, NV. The ideal candidate will have established relationships with public agencies in Southern Nevada and will be involved in various transportation-related projects. This role requires experience in the entire project delivery process, including marketing, client interaction, project management, and hands-on engineering supervision. The candidate will lead engineering project development tasks, focusing on roadway design and documentation for planning and final design.

Responsibilities

  • Perform process design of multi-discipline transportation engineering projects.
  • Evaluate alternatives, conduct engineering studies and design calculations, and perform preliminary/detailed design.
  • Ensure compliance with design intent and state and federal design standards.
  • Provide technical expertise in roadway geometrics following DOT and AASHTO design guidelines.
  • Develop concept plans, design criteria, and cost estimates.
  • Assist with project execution and delivery, including scope, budget, and schedule development.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of engineering staff assignments to specific projects.
  • Prepare complete specifications and bid packages for public projects.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, including clients and stakeholders.
  • Lead and coordinate with multiple disciplines supporting project development, including final design, structures, traffic, and environment.
  • Train and develop staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • 10+ years of related experience in the transportation and infrastructure field.
  • Working knowledge of civil engineering principles and local municipal standards.
  • Ability to prepare/review technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, and engineering studies.
  • Experience in planning, project development, scheduling, and supervising civil engineering project teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, oral, and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with MS Office Suite and Primavera software.
  • Skilled in utilizing Civil3D or Bentley equivalent for corridor designs.
  • Strong presentation skills for client meetings and proposals.
