About the position

The Project Engineer II is responsible for comprehensive management of engineering projects from initial design through production approval. This role involves oversight of tooling, fixtures, gauging, production routings, schedules, dimensional approval, cost analysis, profitability assessments, and direct customer communication.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all health, safety, and quality guidelines, as well as company housekeeping standards.
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction, ensuring projects meet both timing and quality requirements.
  • Facilitate intermediate part number projects, including complex part redesigns, intricate mold setups, and challenging secondary operations.
  • Oversee component sub-assemblies, subcontract selection, and support for 10+ active projects across multiple facilities.
  • Manage projects in markets such as automotive, aerospace, defense, and medical.
  • Handle quality-related responsibilities for new projects by creating and maintaining customer documentation, resolving issues, and supporting customer complaints.
  • Independently develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods through sampling, feedback analysis, and customer input.
  • Serve as a contributing member in plant management operational review meetings with the executive team.
  • Participate in strategic company advancement projects.
  • Utilize knowledge of investment casting processes to enhance performance in Dip/Dewax, tooling design, melt, and heat treatment.
  • Define process steps, tooling, gauging, and material requirements for cost-effective and efficient production.
  • Manage projects to meet or exceed customer expectations for timing and quality standards.
  • Utilize technical expertise to positively influence process knowledge and support manufacturing teams and leadership.
  • Act as a contributing team member during critical line-down situations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical engineering field from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience; a combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Prior experience with CAD is preferred, with demonstrated ability in manufacturing project management and investment casting.
