About the position

The Project Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and refining bills of materials to ensure that the parts will create a fully functional system in accordance with the scope of work. The Project Engineer will be responsible for working with the CAD team to develop full Construction Drawing Packages that communicate all infrastructure requirements and system configurations to the project team, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Primary owner of all technical aspects of a project once it's handed over from the sales and sales engineering teams
  • Review project SOWs and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and modify as necessary for required change orders
  • Provide AV/IT documentation to end-users on an as-needed basis throughout the project
  • Oversee the development of AV construction drawings, system flows, cable/conduit risers, and product detail pages
  • Review and refine Bills of Material
  • Provide coordination with both internal and external stakeholders to help ensure successful installations
  • Serve as technical consultant and provide technical support to project managers, installation team, and commissioning team throughout the integration cycle of a given project
  • Provide technical phone support for internal and external customers for projects during the installation and commissioning phases
  • Complete functional QC of system ahead of shipment
  • Test & validate new hardware or use cases
  • Communicate infrastructure and architectural requirements to construction teams
  • Communicate system implementation plans to installation team
  • Communicate AV networking requirements to client's network teams
  • Conduct site surveys as needed
  • Work with the Production team to configure and program AV equipment
  • Attain and maintain manufacturer and industry related certifications as required

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of design and project engineering experience
  • AVIXA CTS-D/I
  • Tesira Forte + Server
  • Q-SYS Designer
  • Dante Level 1 + 2
  • Ability to travel 10-15%
  • Skills and understanding of commercial building construction
  • Bluebeam review and editing experience
  • Senior level of technical knowledge on audio visual products and infrastructure
  • Full Understanding of and experience with project technical documents (Engineering/Architectural drawings, Project Schedules, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of networking as it pertains to AV
  • Ability to communicate with employees and customers with varying personalities
  • Ability to multitask with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to organize and manage staff workload in accordance with project requirements
  • Ability to problem solve and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Ability to conduct a business meeting, present to an audience, and conduct solution training
