About the position

The Project Engineer at International Paper is responsible for engineering and managing the installation of equipment within corrugated manufacturing facilities. This role involves overseeing capital and repair projects to ensure they are completed according to scope, schedule, and budget while minimizing production interference. The Project Engineer will lead multiple concurrent projects, act as a subject matter expert, and travel to various sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the installation of equipment within corrugated manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure all capital and repair projects are installed according to project scope, schedule, cost estimate, and budget.
  • Lead project management for multiple concurrent projects involving equipment installation and plant infrastructure improvements.
  • Organize, plan, scope, and bid projects, coordinating schedules and managing projects to completion.
  • Perform detailed engineering for equipment installations and plant infrastructure improvements.
  • Travel to sites as needed to manage projects and equipment installations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the corrugated manufacturing process and project implementation.

Requirements

  • BS degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related business discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in the corrugated box industry with a detailed understanding of corrugated equipment and processes.
  • Understanding of engineering processes and mechanical, electrical, and scheduling requirements for equipment installations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD software for creating and modifying drawings and layouts.
  • Advanced project management skills with experience managing multiple engineering projects.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to all levels of management.
  • Knowledge of contractor services in mechanical, electrical, and structural areas.
