The Project Engineer provides technical support to the Project Manager, Superintendent, etc. to ensure all work complies with contract, project goals, safety standards, quality standards, and contract documents. This role involves tracking project objectives and plans, checking performance requirements, and monitoring subcontractors and suppliers. The Project Engineer will lead the entire construction project from start to finish, adhering to the Company's Safety Policy, Substance Abuse Policy, Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment Policy, and the Company Manual. Responsibilities include project planning, budgeting, and resource identification, as well as providing preconstruction management for Design-Build and Guaranteed Maximum Price projects. The Project Engineer will also manage, train, and mentor staff, prepare detailed scopes of work, and handle project accounting functions.

  • Track project objectives and plans, check performance requirements, and monitor subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Lead the entire construction project from start to finish.
  • Provide preconstruction management for Design-Build and Guaranteed Maximum Price projects.
  • Manage, train, and mentor staff as assigned.
  • Prepare detailed scope of works for all subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Perform project accounting functions including gross profit analysis and job cost report management.
  • Update self-perform quantities on a weekly basis and analyze productivity.
  • Initiate, estimate, and process all change order requests to the Owner.
  • Develop the initial overall critical path project schedule.
  • Communicate effectively with team members responsible for completing various phases of the project.
  • Perform all management of the project documentation requirements.
  • Identify elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to risk, disputes, and claims.
  • Certify project close-out and final payment within 60 days of substantial completion.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the President, Vice President, or Operations Manager.
  • A four-year bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent combinations of technical training and practical experience preferred.
  • Full-time position exempt from FLSA.
  • Standard workdays and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weekends as needed.
