About the position

The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing a variety of small capital projects at the Gulf Coast Growth Ventures (GCGV) chemical plant in Gregory, TX. This role involves overseeing projects from initial design through detailed engineering, procurement, and construction, ensuring they are delivered safely, reliably, and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of project planning documents including contract strategy, procurement, quality, stakeholder engagement, and schedule.
  • Directly manage and provide work direction to engineering contractor(s) during detailed engineering.
  • Work with engineering specialists to ensure needed approvals are obtained and organize engineering review meetings.
  • Plan, organize, and manage project procurement including bid tabs, vendor drawings, and purchase order placement.
  • Support projects in construction to ensure safety and quality expectations are met.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee project handover to operations and closeout of all project documentation.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to identify opportunities and risks, and develop deliverables on a project-by-project basis.
  • Support project controls by providing input into cost estimating, forecasting, scheduling, and cost control.

Requirements

  • 3 years of work experience in petrochemical or heavy industrial facilities with a general understanding of project management, contracting, construction, and engineering.
  • B.S. in Engineering; Masters Candidates will also be considered.
  • Leadership skills, self-motivated, shows initiative, collaborative, analytical, and strong communication skills.
  • Must have Work Authorization (Green Card or US Citizenship) to work in the US.

Nice-to-haves

  • General understanding of the petrochemical industry as well as engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel at different levels of engineering, design, maintenance, operations, and management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in both written and verbal form for instructing/educating others in technical matters.
