About the position

The Project Engineer role at Volt involves developing detailed specifications for the installation of telecommunications equipment in central office or customer premise locations. Responsibilities

• Develop detailed specifications for the installation of telecommunications equipment.
• Interface with customer technical representatives.
• Perform site surveys to assess installation requirements.
• Write detailed installation specifications.
• Perform material and labor cost estimates.
• Provide technical and field engineering support.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred or related Central Office experience.
• Project engineering experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry or related Central Office experience.
• Knowledge of telecommunications transport technologies and central office environments and standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to understand and work to strict customer standards.
• Ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Acute sensitivity to customer needs and overall customer service.
• Functional knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Access.
• Functional knowledge of basic computer-aided design (CAD) drawing and editing software.
