About the position

The position involves undertaking assignments related to the development of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including feasibility studies, permit acquisition, and facility design. The role focuses on delivering capital projects in compliance with established policies and procedures, ensuring successful project execution and coordination with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of assigned Capital Projects in accordance with policies and procedures of the Capital Investment Management (CIM) System.
  • Perform engineering calculations and contribute to the preparation of engineering and project reports.
  • Conduct field investigations and develop engineering cost estimates.
  • Prepare design sketches and drawings under the supervision of a managing engineer.
  • Oversee and coordinate efforts of engineering consultants to complete studies and designs of capital improvement projects.
  • Oversee and coordinate efforts of contractor personnel to deliver successful construction of capital projects.
  • Monitor and manage budgets and schedules for several medium to small Capital Investment Projects and programs of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Coordinate and oversee bidding events of capital improvement projects in conjunction with the Procurement department.
  • Complete bid analysis and prepare contract award recommendations.
  • Interact regularly with the Operations group to ensure project delivery meets business needs.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, programs, standards of performance, and approved objectives.
  • Pursue educational opportunities and professional development to enhance performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years experience in engineering.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Proficient use of Auto-Cad (or similar), Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Adobe, Arc_GIS & project scheduling software.
  • Ability to learn SAP, Icertis, Coupa and eBuilder accounting and contract management software.
  • Knowledge of drinking water treatment techniques and distribution system operation.
  • Experience with wastewater conveyance, treatment and disposal.
  • Familiarity with wastewater lift station design and potable water pump station design.
  • Knowledge of construction cost estimating techniques.
  • Familiarity with OSHA 1910 and 1926 safety requirements.
  • Ability to write and review engineering and construction services Scopes of Work.
  • Ability to write and edit engineering proposals and reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Missouri Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • EIT certificate.
