About the position

Aguirre & Fields is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to join our Roadway Group in Fort Worth, TX. The Project Engineer will provide engineering expertise, and apply broad knowledge of principles and practices in specific practice area (civil transportation / roadway design). Assist the Project Manager in leading the team to success by completing the projects on schedule, within budget, and ensuring client and staff satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise project production based on individual project timelines and assigned priorities.
  • Identify needs for equipment, training, and other resources to efficiently meet production requirements.
  • Acquire and apply general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields.
  • Assist PM with project duties (serve as a secondary point of contact for project coordination).
  • Receive general direction on key objectives to design a complete project per the contract documents.
  • Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to assigned projects.
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of the engineering work necessary to complete primary project design elements including project schedule, finances, and projections.
  • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments.
  • Work on multiple projects of moderate size or a portion of major projects.
  • Receive guidance when necessary on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.
  • Provide technical advice and or assistance as needed to project staff or discipline as needed.
  • Provide QC roles as required in areas of competency.
  • Serve as a discipline task lead on pursuits as requested by the Communities Group.
  • Assist in RFP responses as requested by the Communities Group.
  • Assume other duties as directed by Project Managers and Office Team Lead.
  • Support and maintain the morale, welfare, professional development, training, and work-life balance of all assigned staff utilizing the Company's Guiding Principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
  • 8 plus years of civil engineering experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Relevant design experience.
  • Software knowledge (MicroStation, Open Roads, P6/Microsoft Project/P6).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
