About the position

The Project Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company will play a crucial role in supporting the Setpoints & Control Systems (SCS) and Integrated Systems Engineering (ISE) teams. This position involves managing project schedules and costs, troubleshooting technical challenges, and acting as a liaison between various functional areas and project managers. The ideal candidate is a high-performing engineer looking to develop skills in project management and technical leadership within the context of clean energy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Drive functional area completion of required scope to support plant operations.
• Manage and drive the schedule and cost for projects.
• Provide accurate demand signals to functional areas and collaborate with Resource Managers to resource load the schedule.
• Identify risks and challenges within functional areas and promote solution-oriented thinking.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and develop recovery plans.
• Act as the lead point of contact for Functional Area Leads and Energy Systems Project Managers.
• Represent the discipline in the Product Development Review Meeting (PDRM).
• Support Resource Managers, Project Managers, and Technical Leads as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear, Electrical, etc.).
• Previous experience on AP1000 or AP300 preferred.
• Ability to travel internationally as projects require (up to +/- 10% for peak times).
• Knowledge in Integrated Systems Engineering or Control Systems and Setpoints.
• Strong command of subject matter and product application life cycle.
• Knowledge of project management principles and a desire to work in technical project management.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish effective networks across various functional areas.
