About the position

The position at CMC offers an excellent opportunity to learn and grow within the steel, construction reinforcement, and ground stabilization industries. Employees will receive training and support to excel in their roles, whether working in an office, operating machinery, or troubleshooting technical issues. The role involves collaborating with the operations team to manage engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Work with operations team to define scope, develop budgets and schedules.
  • Design and/or supervise and coordinate detailed engineering for new construction and expansion projects.
  • Complete designs and provide value engineering.
  • Develop construction specifications, bid packages, budget cost estimates, construction schedules, permitting, etc. as required to ensure completion of projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop, establish, and maintain engineering budgets.
  • Coordinate and account for any changes in scope of work.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for each project.
  • Ability to obtain PE license in other states.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned, and requirements may vary from time to time.

Requirements

  • Registered professional engineer with active license, in good standing.
  • Experience working on fast-track projects.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or skills working on multiple projects of varied degrees of complexity at the same time.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent work ethic, attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Goal oriented.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Microsoft Project and experience with Project Management software preferred.
