About the position

The Project Engineer will manage capital outlay projects from inception through completion, ensuring effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders and adherence to project specifications and timelines. This full-time role is based in Shreveport, Louisiana, and involves providing functional oversight of contracted designers, contractors, and professional consultants under the direction of a higher-level administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of engineering and construction projects, including planning, design, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and government agencies, to ensure project alignment with specifications and timelines.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and quality control to ensure project goals are achieved on time and within scope.
  • Provide functional oversight of design and engineering teams, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Conduct project reviews and risk assessments, identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and reporting for all projects, ensuring accurate tracking of progress and resources.
  • Support contract management and procurement processes, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) required.
  • At least three years of project management experience in an engineering or construction-related environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, with the ability to apply technical expertise to project management.
  • Proven experience managing capital outlay projects, from design through warranty.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and engineering tools.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP certification or similar project management certification is a plus but not required.
