About the position

The Project Engineer will manage the technical aspects of projects within the Aerospace and Defense industry, ensuring that technical, schedule, and cost targets are met. This role combines project management and technical leadership, requiring strong collaboration with program managers, integrated product teams, and customers to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Program Manager and Integrated Product Teams to ensure the success of the Program's technical, schedule, and cost targets.
• Engage with cross-functional leaders to defend the Program's needs and priorities while accommodating competing Division demands.
• Interface closely with customers on technical and contractual requirements to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and business expansion.
• Decompose business case and customer contract requirements into Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements and support the development of detailed Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
• Construct viable schedules (IMS), determine technical deliverables, and assess program risks and opportunities.
• Responsible for requirements definition, verification, and distribution, as well as technical baseline development and resource allocation.
• Lead the technical development of the program, serving as the focal point for engineering development and product definition.
• Direct the engineering team assigned to the program, managing their performance and overseeing their participation within the program.
• Communicate effectively with the PM and serve as a leader on the project team, ensuring all members have the latest information available.
• Support various meetings and reviews necessary to meet business objectives and commitments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience in project engineering.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience in project engineering.
• Strong knowledge of project management including Earned Value and Risk/Scope Management.
• Proficient knowledge of the product lifecycle including obsolescence management.
