About the position

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) is seeking a Project Engineer to assist in managing engineering projects from initial design through construction. The role involves coordinating project teams, maintaining client relations, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The Project Engineer will also be responsible for quality assurance tasks and will utilize engineering software to prepare necessary documents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing projects from initial design concept to construction phase.
  • Develop project plans including staffing requirements and schedules.
  • Execute project design while managing resources within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Serve as a project engineer and coordinate the work of engineers, designers, and sub-consultants.
  • Establish and maintain client relations and attend client meetings.
  • Involved in marketing, contractual development, and design implementation.
  • Manage financial aspects of engineering projects and ensure timely completion within budget.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects and clients.
  • Use engineering software to prepare design documents.
  • Monitor construction site progress and perform duties as per contract documents.
  • Prepare and coordinate execution of relocation, acquisition, and condemnation papers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 8+ years' experience in the field or a related area.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Working knowledge of public works project life cycles from development through construction.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas or ability to gain reciprocity within 6 months.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
