About the position

The Project Engineer at CITGO Petroleum Corporation is responsible for developing innovative engineering solutions to complex problems. This role involves analyzing project scopes, determining engineering requirements, and performing designs in compliance with applicable specifications. The engineer will also support the Above Ground Storage Tank Inspection Program and provide technical assistance to operational teams, ensuring project development aligns with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management oversight for assigned projects, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule are maintained.
  • Develop and maintain fluency in SAP for project management and materials management.
  • Assist customers with project and SAP-related inquiries.
  • Support the development of AFE quality estimates and prepare material/construction bid packages.
  • Analyze supplier/contractor bids and make recommendations for awards.
  • Support the development of Terminal and Pipelines capital budget.
  • Review engineering drawings for Terminal and Pipeline facilities to ensure compliance with CITGO standards.
  • Create engineered designs that comply with industry, local, state, and federal codes and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BS) with 4 years of job-related experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Scheduling.
  • Design experience in hydraulic, pipe stress, and pump design.
  • Intermediate familiarity with industry standards and specifications related to project work.
  • Understanding and application of 49 CFR 195 and 192.

Nice-to-haves

  • API 653 Certification preferred.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
