About the position

Allan Myers is seeking a motivated and dedicated Project Engineer to join their team in the heavy civil construction industry. This role is essential for planning and supporting the completion of construction engineering projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and adhere to company policies and standards. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Project Team to plan and support the completion of assigned construction engineering projects.
  • Problem solve with the Project Manager and Superintendent to develop effective plans and schedules for constructing the project.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information, disseminating it to the Project Team, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Identify, order, and coordinate delivery of permanent materials such as pipe, stone, reinforcing steel, and beams.
  • Work with the Project Team and Purchasing Department to finalize purchase orders and subcontracts in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Manage the RFI and submittal process, including maintaining project control logs in CMiC.
  • Process owner billings and project-related accounting tasks.
  • Assist the Project Manager with the development of Change Orders and related documentation.
  • Monitor all work for safety compliance in conjunction with the Safety Manager.
  • Maintain project safety files and review the project schedule for activities requiring special safety measures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a construction management role (estimating, operations, and/or engineering).
  • Heavy civil experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related major, or equivalent required.
  • Continuing education in construction is highly desirable.
  • OSHA 30 hour certification required.
  • FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of contract administration systems, job cost management, change order management, labor & equipment reporting, planning, and scheduling.
