About the position

The Project Engineer - Liner Hangers / Cementation at Weatherford is a senior-level role focused on the design and improvement of products within the oilfield services sector. The position involves performing engineering tasks related to product development, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and collaborating with teams to deliver innovative solutions. The engineer will be responsible for analyzing materials, conducting tests, and modifying existing products to meet customer requirements, all while adhering to the company's commitment to quality, health, safety, and environmental policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fundamental engineering tasks within the established Product Development Process.
  • Conduct strength of material problems, stress analysis, and complex torque calculations.
  • Modify existing products to meet internal or external customer requirements.
  • Create engineering layouts for fit, form, and function.
  • Prepare calculations and design packages for design reviews.
  • Coordinate the manufacture of prototypes and develop experimental test programs.
  • Build test tools and fixtures in the test lab and conduct experimental test programs.
  • Analyze test data to determine if the product meets predetermined technical specifications.
  • Prepare documentation for Engineering files and develop new products and services.
  • Prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products and conduct failure analysis.
  • Coordinate all activities associated with technical developments, scheduling, budgeting, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of engineering experience
  • Project Management Experience required, specifically in new product development/platform enhancement
  • Independent engineer capable of making decisions with incomplete information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven technical problem-solving ability
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering with 5 years of oilfield related experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of downhole Oilfield tools with exposure to Cementation products and Rubber/Elastomer products
  • Experience with Liner Hanger systems
  • Familiarity with Creo/Pro-E, FEA/CFD design and detail
  • Knowledge of API 10F / 11D1 / ISO14310 / API 19LH and other API specifications
  • At least 4 years of mechanical design experience in downhole oilfield tools.
