About the position

As a Data Center Project Engineer at AWS, you will be part of a diverse team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure the efficient construction of data centers that support AWS's commitment to safety, security, and cost-effectiveness. You will be directly involved in managing communication and coordination among contractors and stakeholders, ensuring high-quality delivery of construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Establish communication and coordination across a data center region's general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFIs, and change orders for regional leadership review.
  • Request and review MOPs for proper detail, necessity, and risk.
  • On-board new vendors for badging and orientation.
  • Update project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
  • Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site.
  • Compile and store construction data from vendors.
  • Manage various checklists including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality.

Requirements

  • A four-year degree in a technical field such as engineering, construction management, or a trade school OR 4+ years of related construction experience in lieu of a degree.
  • +2 years' experience working in the construction industry or an engineering organization.
  • Experience updating and managing construction data including milestone dates, RFIs, design changes, and change orders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with IT tools such as MS Office Suite including Project, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with project management software tools such as Procore and document control.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar computer aided design software.
  • Experience in a mission critical data center along with experience with developing workflows and tracking systems across multiple organizations.
