About the position

The Project Engineer position at Entergy Services, LLC is responsible for supporting the deployment initiatives of Project Engineering across the company's operating companies. This role involves detailed scoping, engineering, and design activities for various projects initiated by Asset Management, Distribution Planning, and Distribution Automation. The position requires collaboration with subject matter experts and adherence to engineering standards to ensure quality and compliance in project deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed scoping and engineering plans for projects.
  • Ensure adherence to Project Engineering standards for Scoping/Design/Engineering.
  • Partner with subject matter experts for input into scoping.
  • Review and perform quality assurance for design deliverables.
  • Audit design packages and construction jobs for compliance with standards.
  • Assist Right Of Way group in securing permitting as needed.
  • Support change management and rollout of new program development.
  • Assist in implementing smart devices for Grid Mod Projects.
  • Participate in technical knowledge sharing meetings with peer utilities.
  • Resolve technical engineering conflicts affecting cost, schedule, quality, or customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical expertise to respond to regulatory bodies.
  • Integrate safety, reliability, operability, and configuration management into designs.
  • Develop processes and tools to improve project cost, cycle time, and quality.
  • Coordinate switching orders for Grid Modernization projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial) from an accredited institution.
  • 2+ years experience for Engineer II, 4+ years for Engineer III, and 6+ years for Senior Engineer in an engineering discipline.
  • Technical mastery of engineering principles and in-depth knowledge of procedures and standards.
  • Good leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Excellent math and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities under pressure.
  • Commitment to safety and ability to recognize and mitigate workplace hazards.

Nice-to-haves

  • FE/EIT certification, PE license, or PMP certification.
