About the position

The Project Engineering Manager at Parsons Corporation is responsible for overseeing large infrastructure projects that significantly impact the community. This role requires a blend of engineering expertise and management skills to ensure project success, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and team coordination. The position emphasizes the importance of communication, analytical thinking, and organizational skills in a flexible, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for assigned project elements, and monitors progress to meet schedule and budget requirements.
  • Assists in determining the scope of procurement work, schedules, and budgets for assigned project buyouts, monitoring progress to maintain those procurements.
  • Interfaces with procurement and subcontract personnel to facilitate the bid process.
  • Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project with other Project Engineers.
  • Coordinates the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the company.
  • Assists the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of the project or study's technical, fiscal, and administrative functions.
  • Ensures client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines.
  • Expedites distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and Project Manager.
  • Prepares technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.
  • Obtains, analyzes and circulates technical and contractual information to project disciplines.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Contributes to the development of innovative engineering principles and ideas.

Requirements

  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 15+ years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Professional Engineer registration required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
  • Ability to work in and lead multi-discipline teams.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.
  • Understand BIM elements of a project that uses Revit for design and be able to navigate through a 3D design model using Navisworks software.
