About the position

The Project Engineering Manager (PEM) will lead and manage engineering services projects in powerplant operations, maintenance, and audits. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of powerplant assets, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver technical expertise and service excellence. The PEM must possess strong project management skills and deep technical knowledge of powerplant systems, with a commitment to quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of engineering service projects, including powerplant operations and maintenance programs.
  • Provide leadership on powerplant systems, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
  • Act as the primary engineering contact for clients, providing updates, addressing technical concerns, and managing expectations.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets while managing resources to meet goals and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with teams across engineering, operations, finance, and client services to support project requirements.
  • Ensure projects meet industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure proactive resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance processes and improve operational efficiency for powerplant service projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 10 years in engineering roles related to powerplant operations, maintenance, or services.
  • Proven project management experience, preferably with GE systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of powerplant equipment and systems, including turbines, generators, and boilers.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
  • Experience with powerplants, energy utilities, or OEMs, especially in service and maintenance sectors.
  • Expertise in engineering and project management tools; GE experience is a plus.
  • Gas/steam turbine or generator design, manufacturing, or testing experience; exposure to electrical and civil functions of projects.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt or Lean certification preferred.
