About the position

The Project Engineering Manager at Sherwin-Williams is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure efficiency and functionality. This role involves researching and developing new designs to improve manufacturing processes, proposing project budgets, and managing all activities related to each project. The position requires collaboration with various teams to enhance operational performance and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and implement capital projects related to manufacturing and filling chemical processes.
  • Develop subject matter expertise for multiple platforms both domestically and globally.
  • Recommend and specify new processing equipment and systems in operations.
  • Manage internal and external resource groups to ensure proper installation and performance of equipment and processes.
  • Create standards and guidelines to ensure successful leveraging of people, tools, and processes across the organization.
  • Evaluate new or innovative manufacturing and filling processes.
  • Work with functional groups to reduce cost of poor quality (COPQ), eliminate processing issues, and address customer complaints.
  • Ensure equipment meets and exceeds current safety guidelines by conducting PHA's, MOC evaluations, and other safety audits.
  • Work with environmental resources to ensure compliance on engineered controls.
  • Train and mentor site and divisional resources including peers, interns, site engineers, site leadership, regional leadership, process engineers, automation engineers, and external contractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math).
  • Three years of experience in field operations, engineering, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in successful execution of capital expenditure (capex) projects.
  • One year of experience in tangible engineering and continuous improvement application.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of general safety engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Three years of project execution experience at the site or regional level.
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, etc.).
  • One year of experience in leadership roles, supervising others, or leading teams.
  • Knowledge of pertinent NFPA & NEC codes.
  • Familiarity with recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEP).
  • Experience with Microsoft products including Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
